I went to my new endocrinologist this morning and she seems to be a good fit for me. She tweeked some numbers and listened to my concerns and she scheduled me for another appointment in a few weeks.
She also listened to my hopes for the future. She didn't say it was impossible. She didn't say it was unnecessarily risky. She told me it was quite obtainable, with proper preparation. I feel good.
