Selah's Advent- Day 15

Tonight is our annual Cookie party! This year T requested it to also be an ugly Christmas sweater party, yet his "Sweater" is super lame. Boo!

Anyways.... Going with tradition, we will be watching ELF! We have it on at our cookie party every year and every year it is requested. So this year we will play it and it will be day 15's Christmas movie.

Today's Bible verse is:

    And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.

Selah's Advent- Day 12

Tonight, we gave Selah a candy cane to eat. Girlfriend loves those things.

Picture from a week or so ago, but the emotion is still the same.

Today's Bible verse is:

    In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. This was the first registration when Quirinius was governor of Syria. And all went to be registered, each to his own town.

Selah's Advent- Day 11

Today, we put up our (outdoor) Christmas lights!

And then, when we were done with that, Selah and T lit another candle on our menorah (don't ask).

She likes fire. So do I.
Today's Bible verse is:

    And Mary said,
    “My soul magnifies the Lord,
        and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
    for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant.
        For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed;
    for he who is mighty has done great things for me,
        and holy is his name.
    And his mercy is for those who fear him
        from generation to generation.
    He has shown strength with his arm;
        he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts;
    he has brought down the mighty from their thrones
        and exalted those of humble estate;
    he has filled the hungry with good things,
        and the rich he has sent away empty.
    He has helped his servant Israel,
        in remembrance of his mercy,
    as he spoke to our fathers,
        to Abraham and to his offspring forever.”
    And Mary remained with her about three months and returned to her home.

(Luke 1:46-56 ESV)

Tonight, Selah and her favorite man, T, are watching Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer.

The Bible Verse of the day is:

    and she exclaimed with a loud cry, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! And why is this granted to me that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For behold, when the sound of your greeting came to my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord.”

(Luke 1:42-45 ESV)

Selah's Advent- Day 9

Tonight, Selah will be reading Hanukkah: A Counting Book with T when we get home from church and my ladies bible study/ life group.

Today's Bible verse is:

    And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.
    In those days Mary arose and went with haste into the hill country, to a town in Judah, and she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the baby leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit,
